Sydney Eastman is in her fourth year of undergraduate studies at Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania, pursuing a Bachelor of Music Degree in Music Performance under Dr. Cassandra Eisenreich. Sydney previously studied with Darlene Black in Erie, PA. She is a member of the National Flute Association and the Pittsburgh Flute Club. This summer, Sydney has been selected to attend the Aria International Music Academy in South Hadley, Massachusetts. She also was accepted to present at the 2019 National Flute Association in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she will be discussing hyperextension in the hands and playing the flute. Sydney was selected to perform with the NFA Collegiate Flute Choir at the 2018 NFA Convention in Orlando, Florida. In 2017, she was named an alternate for the NFA Collegiate Flute Choir. She was chosen to perform in a masterclass at the NFA Convention in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 2017. In addition, Sydney traveled to Miami, Florida in December of 2018, and spent a week studying with principal flutist of the Denver Symphony Orchestra, Brook Ferguson.
